Welcome to Cinergi - ASHP INstallers in Wiltshire

Located in the heart of England, the county of Wiltshire is full of heritage and charm. From the iconic stone circles of Stonehenge and the Iron Age hill fort at Old Sarum to quaint market towns and rolling countryside, the county has much to offer its 513,000+ residents.

Wiltshire Council is making significant strides towards its net-zero target of 2030, fostering a greener and more sustainable future for Wiltshire. It has successfully secured funding to make many draughty homes more energy efficient and actively promotes the installation of solar panels on residential and commercial properties, enabling individuals and businesses to generate clean energy while reducing their carbon footprint.

Cinergi is proud to offer a range of renewable energy solutions for homes and businesses throughout Wiltshire. We specialise in the installation of ground and air-source heat pumps to provide efficient heating and hot water solutions.

We also offer solar panel installations, enabling customers to generate clean electricity and reduce their reliance on the grid. Whatever your energy needs may be, contact Cinergi today.

What is an air source heat pump?

Heat pumps have been a credible source of heating and hot water production for several years now, but have only recently gained popularity in the world of domestic heating. This is partly because of the continuous development in technology but also the rapid increase in energy costs and changes in government policy.

Ever-rising energy bills have led to an increase in fuel poverty, which the government has addressed by offering a number of grants, most recently the new Boiler upgrade scheme (BUS) and the Energy Company Obligation scheme (ECO).

This improvement in technology and greater affordability means that air source heat pumps are now a viable choice for many more customers in Wiltshire.

Both types operate on the same principle, but as the name suggests, energy is sourced either from the air or ground. The pumps extract heat energy and use it to provide heating and hot water to homes and businesses. They can work with traditional radiators, underfloor heating and also provide cooling in a similar way to air conditioning (in certain circumstances).

That is very much the short story! For more detailed information on how air source heat pumps work, see our FAQs page. There are other types of heat pumps (such as water source heat pumps), but these are far less common.

What are the benefits of air source heat pumps in Wiltshire?

Reduced costs

Depending on your current heating fuel source, installing an air source heat pump could reduce your heating bills. Historically, the largest savings were seen when replacing electric, oil and LPG boilers (common in more rural areas of Wiltshire). However, in recent months heat pumps have also become cheaper to run than natural gas boilers.

Reduced carbon emissions

Air source heat pumps do not burn fossil fuels and are powered solely by electricity. As a result, switching to an air source heat pump can drastically reduce your home’s carbon emissions, especially when coupled with a ‘green’ energy tariff, solar PV or battery system.

Minimal maintenance

An annual service and inspection is required to ensure the heat pump is operating efficiently and to maintain the manufacturer guarantee/warranty. This is unlike a gas or oil boiler service, which is more onerous. Cinergi can offer maintenance contracts for the Hampshire area.

Easier to install

Air source heat pumps are easier to install than ground source heat pumps and therefore are less disruptive to the occupiers. A typical installation generally takes between 3 to 7 days, depending on the amount of work and adaptions required to the property.

Is there a government grant for air source heat pumps?

The Green Deal and The Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme (DRHI) are now closed and have been replaced by the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS). The BUS provides grants of up to £7,500 to incentivise home and small non-domestic property owners to replace fossil fuel heating with low-carbon alternatives, including heat pumps and biomass boilers.

Renewable heating systems commissioned on or after 1 April 2022 may be eligible. The closing date for applications is 31 December 2027. See if you are eligible for a BUS grant here.

Homeowners may also be eligible for boiler and insulation upgrades as part of the Energy Company Obligation Scheme (ECO).

What is the Cinergi ASHP Installation process?

  • Register your interest by clicking one of the ‘Book your Survey Now’ buttons or calling us on 0800 321 3142.
  • A member of our team will call you to discuss your current installation and any requirements you may have and to answer any questions at a time that suits you.
  • If you would like to proceed with a site survey and formal proposal, then we will proceed to arrange a date and time for one of our team to attend. The survey takes no more than an hour, during which we will measure each room in your property and take any additional information that we need to undertake the detailed heat loss calculations (this will include window dimensions, window type, floor type, type and thickness of loft insulation etc.)
  • Once we have all the information we require from your property, we will carry out detailed heat loss calculations and select the heat pump that is best suited to you and your property’s needs. This information will be compiled, along with the quotation, and returned to you approximately 3 days from the time of the survey.
  • If we haven’t already heard from you, a member of the team will call a week or so after sending your design information pack to answer any questions you may have. If you choose to proceed with the proposal, then we will arrange for a suitable time and date for the installation to take place (installation usually takes between 3-5 days, depending on the amount of work/adaptions required to the property).
  • Once the installation is complete, a member of our team will provide training on how to operate the new system and make you aware of any maintenance requirements. A detailed handover pack will be provided.
  • Aftercare – we appreciate that installing an air source heat pump may be a daunting prospect and, as such, offer a full aftercare service on all of our installations. Please do not hesitate to call us if you have any questions once your system has been installed.
