The earlier we're involved, the more value we add
Renewable technology decisions affect layouts, required plant space, roof design, electrical capacity, ventilation routes and long-term maintenance access. Leave those decisions too late, and they can quickly turn into redesigns, delays, clashes with other trades and avoidable costs.
By working closely with you from the start, we can ensure renewable technologies perform their best and integrate seamlessly from concept through to commissioning.
Let's discuss your next project.

All renewables. Working together.
Used together, renewable energy technologies deliver a stronger return on investment than they ever could in isolation. The results are best when renewables are designed as one system from the start.
- Solar panels generate electricity, helping power heat pumps, EV chargers, air-conditioning, lighting and wider building systems while reducing reliance on grid electricity.
- Battery storage stores surplus solar energy so it can be used when demand is higher, helping reduce peak-time grid use and improve energy resilience.
- MVHR and smart controls reduce wasted heat, improve air quality and help the building operate more efficiently.
Heat pump installation
Typically for residential projects, air-to-water heat pumps are used to transfer heat from air or ground to deliver efficient heating and hot water. For some flats or commercial buildings, air-to-air heat pumps may be more suitable as they can provide heating and cooling; however, a separate system is required to generate hot water. To maximise efficiency, both options must be correctly sized based on accurate heat loss calculations, hot water demand, emitter performance, controls and available space. We start with detailed site surveys and modelling to maximise efficiency and cost savings.
MVHR installation
For well-insulated, airtight buildings, MVHR is essential. It removes moist, stale air and brings in fresh, filtered air while recovering heat that would otherwise be lost. It prevents condensation and supports comfort, air quality and energy efficiency in new developments, apartments, offices, educational buildings and high-performance homes. We install MVHR standalone or as part of a wider renewable energy package.
Commercial solar installation
Solar PV converts sunlight into electricity on-site, reducing your building’s reliance on the grid and improving long-term energy security. Our solar power solutions are designed around your roof space, energy use, electrical infrastructure and commercial objectives. We’ll advise on system size, panel layout, inverter choice, battery storage, export potential and maintenance requirements, so your solar provides a lasting ROI. Some commercial solar PV can pay for itself in as little as 2-3 years.

Frequently asked questions about commercial renewable energy solutions
How long does it take for commercial solar panels to pay for themselves?
Most UK commercial solar installations pay for themselves in 3 to 7 years, depending on system size, energy usage patterns and how much of the electricity generated is used on site. Businesses with high, consistent daytime energy use, like manufacturing, refrigeration or hospitality, tend to see the fastest returns.
A well-installed solar panel system typically lasts from 25 to 30 years, meaning potentially decades of free power once the initial cost is recovered. *Tax incentives, such as the Annual Investment Allowance, can also accelerate payback, with up to 100% of the installation cost deductible from taxable profits in the first year (source: gov.uk).
At Cinergi, we don't rely on generic assumptions. We will assess your roof space, energy consumption, and building use to provide you with an accurate quote.
What is the return on investment for a commercial heat pump?
Commercial heat pumps typically deliver payback in 5 to 9 years, with energy bill reductions of around 30–50% commonly reported in the first year compared to ageing gas systems. The exact figure depends heavily on the fuel you're replacing, building insulation, and how the system is sized and controlled. Switching from oil or direct electric heating generally shows faster returns than switching from mains gas.
Every building is different, so we will provide an accurate quote based on heat loss, hot water demand and usage patterns.
How much roof space do I need for commercial solar panels?
As a rough planning guide, most commercial solar installations require around 4-5 m² of usable roof space per kW of system capacity, though this varies with panel wattage, roof pitch, and orientation. For context, a 1,000 m² warehouse roof can typically accommodate enough panels for a 200–250kW system.
What are the new Part L requirements?
Part L of the Building Regulations sets the energy efficiency and carbon emissions standards that new buildings must meet, covering insulation, airtightness and the energy performance of heating, cooling, ventilation and building services. Part L is being updated as part of the Future Homes and Buildings Standards, with the new requirements taking effect on 24 March 2027 for most building work (and 24 September 2027 for higher-risk buildings). It's a significant shift from fossil fuels to green energy.
What that means in practice is that every new development must be designed around low-carbon heating, like heat pumps, paired with highly insulated building fabrics. On-site renewables are now a core layout requirement: designs must accommodate roof-mounted solar panels covering an area equal to at least 40% of the building's ground-floor footprint.
Most developments being designed now should already be planning towards these tighter standards.
